A daybed of happy memories

Earlier today, a couple picked up the daybed we'd put out for trash collection. I was so sad putting it out last night because it was one of the first big furniture pieces I'd gotten for my home office. Many kitty friendships and deep sibling bonds formed in the afternoons when when the office became the most sun-filled. It quickly became a favored hangout for K2, Whitney, and Minnie—who had only joined the Forde family a couple months earlier.

Later in 2016, Paul joined the family. It didn't take too long before he found his place on the daybed. In fact, it only took about two weeks before he joined his older siblings on the there. In hindsight, this is impressive for such a shy little boy.

Olive adopted me in July 2020. While she formed a fast friendship with K2, she took a little more time establishing her place on the daybed.

Only a few months later, we'd lose Whitney, and daybed dynamics changed. I'd placed a folded blanket, crocheted by my great aunt as a graduation present, on my desk and it became a favored hangout.

In late 2022, I updated my office and we moved the daybed to the guest bedroom. Misty joined the family a couple months later in 2023.Not unlike Paul, she quickly found her spot on the daybed.

They daybed always took up a little too much space in the guest bedroom, so I replaced it with a chair in May. I have so many fond memories of my fur babies (K2 has more recently joined Whitney across rainbow bridge) enjoying the sun & fresh air on the daybed. It's one of the few pieces that all six of them saw.

I'm so happy someone picked up they daybed before it went to the landfill. I hope they create as many new sun-kissed memories as we did.
